What’s a book or movie that genuinely scared you?
I’m a child of the 90s. I grew up watching shows like Full House, Catdog, and Pinky and the Brain. Life was pretty good. Until I was exposed to the atrocity that was Leprechaun. I don’t really know how I found myself watching this movie one night as a child but I did not forget it. The horrific imagery of Warrick Davis dressed as a small tormentor haunted me that night and ultimately my dreams. I struggled with night terrors and nightmares for a few years after seeing these films. He would come in my dreams and chase me wanting to cause me harm. It was so bad it would seep into the home. After awakening from these dreams I would often see him peering out from behind couches and corners in my home. All of which I know now were figments of my imagination. I finally reached an age of 13 developed more confidence in myself and I was able to defeat him in my dreams. The last night he appeared in my dreams I was running away and I decided to stop turn and fight I was able to defeat him there and he never came back to haunt me. Crazy how the mind plays tricks on you.
